SV’s role
We design and deliver the CEBIC program, including hosting the CEBIC website, networking events, delivering grants programs, research studies, and industry intelligence.
The Circular Economy Business Innovation Centre (CEBIC) is a one-stop shop for businesses to connect, collaborate, and access the support they need to trial new business models to stop the creation of waste before it starts.
We design and deliver the CEBIC program, including hosting the CEBIC website, networking events, delivering grants programs, research studies, and industry intelligence.
CEBIC specifically targets the small to medium enterprise and not for profit sector to explore opportunities to design out waste and extend the useful life of products.
Victoria needs to do business differently, and avoiding waste is a critical change we need to make. CEBIC partners with innovative Victorian businesses to test new approaches to sustainability, transform the way they use resources and develop new business models.
The CEBIC website and virtual hub encourages businesses to innovate and collaborate on stopping and reducing waste initiatives, complimented by a series of networking events through the year.
We focus on specific industry sectors each year, targeting with food and organics in 2021, the textiles industry in 2022, and circular product design in 2023.
We provide funding through grants programs to stimulate innovation into circular solutions for those industries in Victoria. A total of 49 projects have been funded to date.
We fast-tracked more than 200 new circular products and services through CEBIC, future-proofing their operating models, and finding a competitive edge through smarter, circular, and more sustainable ways of doing business.
