How it works

The Buy Circular Service provides councils with tools they need to deliver sustainable procurement in their purchasing departments, including toolkits, material standards, procurement templates, masterclasses and networking events. Previously known as the Buy Recycled Service, the renamed Buy Circular Service has expanded to support councils to consider product design, product reuse and product repair within infrastructure, building and landscaping projects. The service is supported and guided by over forty Buy Circular Champions from many Victorian councils. The Champions act as agents of change within the Councils and regions where they work, and come from a variety of disciplines including engineering, procurement, urban design, economic development, circular economy, sustainability and waste and recycling.

All councils and industry can access SV’s Buy Recycled Directory, our dedicated and free tool that has more than 100 suppliers showcasing their recycled products. The Buy Recycled Directory empowers councils to make confident decisions when buying recycled materials for use in infrastructure, landscaping, parks and garden projects. The directory provides council buyers with easy access to suppliers and product options.
