Metricon 7-star display homes, Sunbury

Metricon Homes has a proud history of collaborating with Sustainability Victoria to deliver market leading energy efficient homes at an affordable price. These articles look at 2 Metricon homes delivered as part of the 7-star Homes Program. Located in Villawood’s Redstone Estate in Sunbury, these impressive displays boast 7-star NatHERS ratings, efficient all-electric appliances, and solar PV. In designing these homes, Metricon has had to overcome several difficulties including narrow lot widths with neighbouring homes and poor orientation with street frontage on the North-east side of each block. In these articles we will unpack what it took to elevate these designs from 6 to 7-star NatHERS in as built and worst-case orientation scenarios and the ongoing savings associated with building a 7-Star all-electric product.
