‘Buy Circular’ Local Government Champions Program
After launching our ‘Buy Recycled’ Champions program in 2023, with 23 Champions from 21 Councils we are thrilled to embark on the next evolution - our ‘Buy Circular’ Champions program.
The ‘Buy Circular’ Champions Program will work with 44 local government champions from 30 Victorian Councils to build their understanding of circular procurement, products and approaches to enable positive change in councils.
This program will support councils to consider circular aspects of products including recycled and reused materials, materials efficiency, design for disassembly, product as a service and product repair, while encouraging the adoption of circular economy principles in procurement decisions for infrastructure, landscaping, parks and gardens projects.
Support offered includes:
- Online and in person events including site visits and collaborative drop in sessions
- Procurement resources including toolkits and case studies
- Online collaborative platform
- Project working groups with a targeted focus
- Residency at SV Hub
Sustainability Victoria will continue to support councils more broadly through the Buy Circular Service.
